12-1

AHHH!!!! It's finally December! This is my FAVORITE time of the year! Campus is gorgeous right now, and it is finally starting to get cold... which means it is almost time for gloves/mittens!!! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So exciting. Thanksgiving was so much fun! We went to the lake with the Minor's and watched Alabama beat Auburn in the Iron Bowl! Rooolll Tiiidddeee!!! haha. Now all that's left is Florida... I think we can do it! Just have to do better than we did Friday. lol. So I havent done any Christmas shopping.. boo... I am usually just about done by now. Stupid school. Finals are next week... Sucks!!!!!!!!!!!! But it shouldn't be too bad. I have them Monday, Thursday and Friday. So i am going to bring home most of my stuff Friday and get the rest next week.
I think thats all.. lol.

Song of the moment: Cold by Plumb (As heard in The Vampire Diaries... <3 that show!)
I'm not a stranger, no, I am yours
With crippled anger and tears that still drip sore
A fragile frame aged with misery
And when our eyes meet I know you'll see

I do not wanna be afraid
I do not wanna die inside just to breathe in
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists, I find it when I am cut

OK, so it seems kinda emo... but listen to it! It is such a pretty song!

Ok, so I am totally avoiding reading for English right now.. I really don't care about Frederick Douglass.. He's dead! Granted, he was a big guy for slaves and all that.. But it's over! He's dead! Get over it! Sorry... Just needed to vent my frustrations. Anywho... Playoff game tomorrow! Woo hoo! Go Jags! Me and Cathryn are going with Daddy and her daddy. Church Wednesday was freaking amazing! People were dancin, jumpin, screamin... it was intense! I loved it! I have to register for classes on Tuesday.. Scary! And that is kind of late because a lot of people have already registered... This is going to be interesting. I am soo happy baseball is over! Bones came back tonight! yayayay!!! But why couldn't it have been over last night?!?! I miss Glee!!! Best show ever. I have a big paper and exam in Psych on Tuesday.. what fun. First real college paper. Goodness. I had to watch We are Marshall for the people. That is the MOST emotional movie I have ever seen! If you are ever in the need for an emotional purging, that is the best movie to watch. I swear, you spend the first hour crying, then you're laughing... then you're crying again... it's intense.
I think that is everything for now....

"Hold your head high, Don't ever let them define
The light in your eyes.
Love yourself, Give 'em Hell.
You can take on this world.
You just stand and be strong
And then fight
Like a girl!"
Love it! Such an amazing song!

Good gravy! It's been a while! Sorry... I have just been crazy (AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) busy as of late. Whether it be sickness (can you say sinus infection on top of bronchitis? oh yea, that was a fun fall break for me), or homework/quizzes/tests (yep. I TOTALLLY have a B in Bio. woo ha!!!! and i got an 84 on my last math test!!! heck yes!), watching the Crimson Tide put the hurt on some poor unsuspecting team (haha... North Texas never saw us coming. haha. And hello? Mt. Cody in the Tennessee game!!! Can I get a ROOOLLLL TIDDEEE!!!!! **ahem, that was totally for mom ;)**), or just being the typical college student trying to hang out with friends, it has been a crazy October. Unfortunately, I did not make it into the sorority I Rushed for, but I am considering doing it again in the Spring. Haven't decided yet. I go soon to register for classes (OMG!!!! Where the heck did my semester go?!?!?!) I have no idea what I want to take... This will be quite interesting. haha. I'm just sayin'. I cannot believe SP made it to playoffs again!! OMG! Why couldn't they do that last year?!?! Me and Daddy are going to the first game this Friday, then the fam is headed to the farm for Kayleb's 3rd Birthday! (Good grief... I cannnot believe it has been 3 years!!! Talk about ridonkulousness!)
Anywho... There isn't much else going on right now... I think I have finally gotten into a rythm and I am rollin' with it. haha.
Love!

Song of the moment: (as seen on my facebook. haha. great song!)
As surely as the sun will rise,
You'll come to us.
As certain as the dawn appears
You'll come,
Let your glory fall as you respond to us
Spirit rain
Flood into our thirsty hearts again.
You'll come.
("You'll come" by Hillsong. Love it!!!)

So... Today has pretty much been a whole day of doing nothing. haha. Went to Psych and learned about the Central Nervous System. I then came back to my room and I have just been hanging out until I realized I needed to fill out an application for the Young Women Leaders Program, which is a program that lets college students mentor 5th (I think) grade girls through one of the local elementary schools. So I did that, played a few games of Solitaire (my new obsession) while watching Bones (the ones on TNT) and then started reading for my English class tomorrow. I read like 4 poems by this Puritan guy Edward Taylor and then realized I have no idea what I read. GGRREEEEEAAAAAAAATTTT. So I am going to finish reading when I get back from the informational meeting for Alpha Delta Chi, which is this Christian sorority on campus. I don't know for sure if I am going to do it.. But I think it will be fun if I do decide to.
Umm.... going to Atlanta this weekend.. I am going to drive in Georgia for the first time (=O) and go see Monica on Sunday.. Wish me luck!
Love! <3

But she takes it all for me.
And I lost my faith, in my darkest days,
But she makes me want to believe.

They call her love, love, love, love, love.
She is love, and she is all I need.

8-26's footnote that got left out

Here is the footnote that randomly disappeared from my 8-26 post. haha.
So, I have found that since I have been in Tuscaloosa, my taste in guys has done like a total 180. haha. Instead of liking the guys that you see and are instantly attracted to based on looks (you know, the ones that you (and every other girl around you) instantly swoon over), I found that I like the guys that you really have to look at to see their good-lookingness. I don't know if that makes any sense, but thats just how it is now. haha.

Baha! Bones can not escape me! (15 days btw! =D) I am watching it now in my room! yayayay!!! so exciting. Anywho, the last two days have been crazy busy as usual. If I am not reading for English/Psych, then I am in class... If I am not doing one of those things, I am doing Math homework before their due times.. so ridiculous. So, yesterday I had Psych and before I met Rachel for dinner, I had the displeasure of having to read "The Day of Doom" by Michael Wigglesworth (hahhaha.. I love his name. baha.) Anyways, I went to dinner with Rach and we got Arctic Blasts from Lakeside (they have a "convienent store" on the upper floor of the dining hall. SO cool) and we walked to my Bio lab.. all the time seemingly drunk because we couldn't stop laughing at ourselves.. Good times.. Good times. Anyways... I had lab, then I went to ONE; that was amazing. Then I came back to my room.
Today, I had English and Bio. After Bio, I came back to my room and did my Math homework and read for Psych. I also had to make a CVS run b/c, like everyone else on campus, I may be getting sick. Grreeeeaaattt... But I have cough drops and Zyrtec.. so i should be good. haha.
Tomorrow, I have a meeting for Alpha Delta Chi, which is the Christian sorority on campus so I sadly will not be able to go to Unashamed. =( (They meet at the same time. saad)
Ready to go to Atlanta this weekend! And Athens to see Monica! Soo much fun!
Love! <3

8-31-09

Oh dear goodness... I have been CRAZY busy!!! I am just now getting some free time. OK, rundown of the weekend: got home Friday and me and daddy contemplated going to Spain Park's football game.. decided not to (but we kind of wish we had b/c go figure, they won. haha). Saturday, I got up and went shopping with mom and Al, got a rug and curtains for the dorm; then me and daddy went to see The Final Destination.. which we thought was really good... but my car will not be going through the car wash ever again... I will wash it my dang self. I'm just sayin'. Sunday was church, then we stopped by Wal-Mart where I got a new dress (:D) and then we went to breakfast/lunch at the Egg & I.. that was interesting... I chose possibly the worst food that I could have chosen.. haha. I waited until after dinner to leave... got back to Tuscaloosa at like 7:30... only to have to make 3 trips to get all the stuff out of my car... and that was only the stuff that NEEDED to come out. haha. I had to get the rest out this afternoon.
Today, I went to class at 10, met Rachel for lunch afterwards, class at 12, room at 1 to print out Math stuff, math at 2, then back to the room at 3 to read, read, read my butt off... it was ridiculous and took quite a few hours.
Tomorrow, I only have Psych (haha... Bones... haha), so when I get back to my room I am going to have to do even more reading for Wednesday... grrr.... But on the plus side, after my lab at 6, I have ONE. Which will be SUPER fun! So exciting.
Unashamed Thursday night was craziness! There were sooo many people there! It was basically like a giant concert.... which meant, of course, that I loved it. haha. It really made me want to go to The Basement... but I don't remember when it is... I need to look into that.
Love! <3

Ohhh.... Emmm.... Geee... I am soo tired! This has been a looong day. And I haven't even done that much. Oh well. Here it goes: I woke up, went to Psych, came back and chilled in my room for a few hours. Tonight, I am going to Unashamed. It should be a lot of fun. I have some really good things about it. I will post either tonight after it or in the morning. I am going home tomorrow! =) Gonna see Final Destination!!!! =D SOO exciting!

8-26-09

Ok, so it was brought to my attention last night that I have not blogged in a while. I am sorry about this. I have crazy busy. So here is the rundown of the last two days:
Tuesday: I woke up early to go to the doctor about my random foot injury only to find out that it was not fractured in any way (which is good), but he doesn't know what to do about it (which is not). So, if it still hurts in a few weeks, I am to go back and he will send me to someone else like a sports medicine person. Woo hoo. I then drove back to Tuscaloosa, took a nap and went to Psych. Then, I went back to my room and hung out for a bit, only to remember that I still had not purchased my lab manual for my Bio lab, which I would need that night, as I had my first lab. So I frantically powerwalked (apparently I do that now... GRRREEEEAAAATTTT.....) my way to the Ferg and the SUPe Store to buy it and a binder to put it in. All of which cost me a whopping: $5. WOOOO HOOOO!!!! haha. Then, I went to dinner with Rachel at Lakeside. Then, we walked to where I was hoping my building was for said lab. haha. We found it after going in and out of buildings. It was quite entertaining and the only thing I missed was the guy calling roll.
OH! Sidenote: I have ALL MALE TEACHERS!!!!=( There is absolutely no estrogen in my days. It is qute annoying.
Anywho. So, I stayed in lab until 7:50, at which time I headed to yet another building where I had no idea where I was going. That was entertaining. I ended getting to ONE (Highland's college small group) freakishly early, so I went to the bathroom, thinking that could kill some time. Oh, it did. Trust me. I ended up freaking out because I thought I was locked in the stall and would have to climb out from the bottom. (Which, can I just say.... EEEEEWWWW!!!!!!) And then, once I finally wrenched (I am not totally sure that is the right word... haha) the door open, I had the fun task of trying to work the sink... That took about two minutes. Talk about ridonkulousness. I am just happy no one was in the bathroom with me. haha. So, I walk into the auditorium where we are meeting, and I sit down behind this girl that I don't know. The guy in front of her turns around to ask our names. I start talking to said girl in front of me and the girl sitting next to, yet a few seats down from, her. Then, this really cute guy* (see foot note ;)) came in and sat down next to me, but down one seat. We all get into really intense conversations. It was quite fun. We started about 30 minutes late, so I learned a lot about these three people sitting around me... Mostly the guy; we talked the most. I loved it. Then, when it actually started, I took so many notes that the front of my note sheet is almost not legible. haha. It was great... The guy was great... I will definitely be going back. So, that was over around 10 and I walked back to my room where me and Nancy continued to do our homework and watch "18 Kids & Counting" which, if you haven't watched it, is utterly ridonkulous. Yeesh. Then it was time for bed.
Wednesday: I got up early to finish my homework... Went to English... Then I met Alex and Rachel at Starbucks in the Ferg and we scoped out Get On Board Day. Then I had to go to Bio. After class, me and Rachel met up in the 90-some odd heat and went through every single table. We signed up for soooo much stuff. It was crazy. And freaking HOT!!!!!!!!!!! I found two Christian group things that I want to attend. One is Unashamed (see pic) and the other is Chi Alpha, which a Campus Christian Ministry. They are both meeting tomorrow... which is kind of sad.. but hopefully I can find some way to go to both. OH! And, the Basement was the Grant's Mill campus! GRRR... I so want to go to that! But I don't know when it is. I will figure it out. Anyways! After G.O.B.D., we went to the Math Lab. For our math class, you have to have 3 hours in the lab. I think we got that all in one sitting. It was crazy. We then went to Lakeside and got dinner to-go and ate on the Quad, where we were then attacked by the swarms of gnats... But it was still fun experience and we don't understand why more people don't do it. Then, I had to make a Target run. And now I am home and blogging when I SHOULD be reading for Psych. Oh well. haha. I will probably do it when I get up in the morning. Class isn't until 12:30 anyways. haha.
Well... that's all for now.
Love! <3>

Weekend

So, I went home this weekend... It was quite entertaining. Even if I did spend the majority of it on the couch... stupid foot. I didn't realize how much I missed mom yelling at daddy. Mary came over on Sunday and we all walked around campus. Mary took tons of pictures... as usual. haha. ;) I then went back to my room and read for about 2 hours... Still don't know what I read really. Oh well...
I go to the doctor Tuesday morning... hoping there is nothing seriously wrong with my foot... Don't really want it to be in a cast of any kind. That would NOT be nice.
I think I am going to go to bed now.. I am exhausted and haven't slept well in a while.

8-20-09

Soo... my Pysch teacher guy is younger than both Mary and Ali... he is 25. I think he told us he was a fourth year grad student or something like that. But, this is not the first time he has taught 101, thank goodness. I dont think I could handle another Miss Davis algebra/geometry experience. haha. But, on a slightly akward note, he looks like the kind of guy I would date.. haha. This will be quite the interesting semester. But I am liking this whole one class day thing. It is quite nice.
Well, I should probably do some homework for tomorrow's classes.
Love! <3

8-19-09

Today was not that eventful. My math professor and I sooo won't get along. We probably would if I could understand him. He seems like a pretty nice guy. I actually think he told us he was a graduate student now that I think about it.. oh well. My english professor is a long-haired hippie freak who doesnt care what he says.. Heard some interesting language from him today. And my Biology professor is one of those people who doesn't want people to know he is a dork but everyone knows he is. Today, he wore his button-up shirt only buttoned to the, like, third button. It was bad. He seems like he will be a good teacher. Back to the math guy, he changed our schedule and meeting place... Totally frustrating. Oh well, I will adapt. I have Psychology tomorrow... Bones would not be happy with me. haha! =D

8-18-09 (pt. 2)

Ugh!!! Today was sooo long! It doesn't really seem like I did that much.. Oh well. Classes start tomorrow.. Not sure how I feel about that... But I think that will make it more real that I am actually in college.. It just kind of seems like a trip right now.. I will let you know how that goes.

8-18-09 (pt. 1)

O... M.... G!!!!! Target last night was TOOOOTALLLYY crazy! There were so many people there! It took me and Rachel FOREVER to meet up with Cathryn! But we finally found her and we all made some purchases that maaaaayyybbeeeee we didn't reeeeaaaalllly need. haha. But classes start tomorrow! =O AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't even know where they are! But we are planning on running our schedules today, so I should be good. I don't know what is planned for today other than a reception at the College of Education that I will be attending at 2. haha.

8-17-09

Hey everyone! Today has been forever long! We walked our schedules a bit (me, Rachel, Cathryn, and Rachel's roommate Jess) and then hung out in my dorm for a while with Nancy. Then we went to the Off-Campus Bookstore and looked around for a bit before attempting to find an art gallery that was supposedly part of Week of Welcome. We then went over to the boys dorm (Brian D, Alex H, and David B) where me and Rachel played extreme ping-pong. haha. Not a good idea while indoors. Just sayin'. We then just hung out with the boys and some random girls in their building that they were flirting with even though the girls seemed totally uninterested. haha. We went to the Lakeside Dining Room (me, Rach, and Cat) and ate dinner and then me and Rach went back to her room. Tonight, we are planning on going to a Live-Band Karaoke at the Ferg. After that, the school is having Student Night at Target, which we will be attending. Hopefully, we will find some awesome stuff at discount prices!!!! =D
OH!!!!!! And we followed some Pucks around. (Pictures will be on Facebook quite soon!=D)
Love you!

move-in day

Just wanted to let you know that everything went great with the moving... The only thing I forgot were my hangers. So I can't officially be done packing until Sunday when mom and dad are bringing me some. Everything fit in "The Chipmunk" except for my full length mirror. Our only problem was trying to find a place to park. There wasn't any. haha. But yea.. Then I hooked up with Rach and we hung out for a bit. Nancy from Mary-land is quite cool. But our cable doesn't work so it is quite quiet in here.

On the plus side, the bathroom is right across the hall from us. On the bad side, the bathroom is right across the hall from us. lol.
Well.. that is all for now. I am sure I will think of more to tell you later.
Love you bunches!

welcome to my blog!

Goodbye Spain Park... hello BAma! Stay tuned to my blog as I update you on life as I know it - as a freshman in Tuscaloosa :)
